CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Each Korloff jewel is designed to be worn every day and on all occasions. This is why no extraordinary maintenance is necessary, especially if it is handled and cleaned delicately. However, being a precious object, it deserves to be treated with care.

We would like to share with you some simple steps to preserve the beauty of your jewelry over time:

• Keep your jewelry away from chemicals and harsh products.

• Jewelry is not designed to be worn during physical activities.

• Remember to always remove your jewelry before bathing, swimming and/or doing the dishes. Do not wear your jewelry in the pool or the sea: salt and chlorinated water can fade the shine and colors (especially with stones of an organic nature such as mother-of-pearl, among others).

• Stones set in a piece of jewelry are inherently delicate, which means that even accidental or invisible shocks, as well as thermal shocks, could damage or break them. Avoiding contact with chemicals, such as cosmetics, perfumes, soaps, detergents, chlorine, sudden changes in temperature and prolonged exposure to sunlight are good habits to maintain the beauty of gemstones over time.

• If you wish to preserve the shine of your Korloff jewelry, we recommend storing it in a clean, dry place away from any source of heat.

• To clean your gold jewelry, we recommend that you use a professional cleaning service, as the process can be delicate for items set with precious stones and diamonds. If you want to do it yourself, we recommend using warm water, a pH neutral degreasing soap and a soft cloth. Remember to dry the jewelry completely before storing it.

• In case your jewelry contains mother-of-pearl, we recommend that you avoid using soap, chemicals or any other product that could affect the colors. Mother-of-pearl being an organic material, it has a natural porous structure that requires special attention. Only clean your jewelry with a soft, dry cloth.

• Diamond jewelry worn daily may appear to have lost its shine if not cleaned regularly. This is completely normal. We suggest you go to a professional for a deep cleaning. If you want to clean your jewelry yourself, remember to avoid scrubbing with brushes and harsh chemicals. A simple pH-neutral degreasing soap and warm water will make your diamonds shine. Always remember to let the jewelry dry completely.

• It is normal for gold jewelry to lose its shine over time. The natural phenomenon of blackening, due to oxidation, is also very common to all jewelry that contains a gold alloy and it can be easily erased by professional cleaning if the oxidation stage is advanced. Call a professional for any surface treatment such as rhodium plating or polishing. Do not hesitate to bring back/send us your jewelry, we will be happy to provide it with professional care that will restore all its former splendor.
